David Christenson was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, where his early connection to wide-open landscapes and natural light first shaped his visual sensibility. He went on to study film at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, refining his craft before relocating to Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, where he now lives and works.

Beyond filmmaking, he is an accomplished elite road cyclist. Years spent training and competing at a high level have instilled a deep respect for preparation, adaptability, and perseverance—qualities that quietly guide both his storytelling and his presence on set, where focus, calm, and forward momentum matter as much as the image itself, all while creating a collaborative and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.
